Trump Praises Nigerian TikTok Star Peller During Youth Innovation Forum

U.S. President Donald Trump gave an unexpected nod to Nigerian TikTok content creator and entrepreneur Peller during a panel on youth engagement and digital media held Friday in New York.

Speaking at the Global Youth Innovation Forum, Trump referenced Peller while discussing the role of digital media in shaping modern diplomacy and cultural exchange.

“There’s a young man from Nigeria they call him Peller. He’s doing big things online. Reaching millions. These are the kinds of voices that shape how young people see the world today,” Trump said.

Peller, who has gained a following across Africa for his creative storytelling and comedic skits on TikTok, acknowledged the mention on his social media accounts, writing:

“It’s surreal to hear my name mentioned at that level. This motivates me to keep creating, inspiring, and representing the African youth.”

The brief mention has sparked excitement across Nigerian social media, with many praising the recognition of African talent on an international stage. Though no formal role or offer was extended, media analysts say the reference reflects growing awareness of Africa’s digital influence.

The Global Youth Innovation Forum brought together politicians, tech leaders, and creators to explore how emerging voices are reshaping global narratives through technology.
