While Trump and Netanyahu Negotiate, 59 Palestinians Are Killed in One Deadly Day

The photo ops in Washington painted a picture of progress. But in Gaza, the ground was soaked in blood.

As U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met for two days of so-called ceasefire talks, Gaza experienced one of its deadliest days in weeks 59 people killed in a brutal combination of shootings and airstrikes.

Israeli forces shot dead 31 Palestinians approaching a food distribution point near Rafah, according to Palestinian health officials and eyewitnesses. The site was managed by the U.S.-supported Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which claimed no violence occurred there a statement contradicted by its own contractors.

Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes carried out multiple attacks across central and southern Gaza, killing 28 more, including four children. Hospitals are overwhelmed. Aid is minimal. And fuel only entered Gaza this week after a 130-day blockade, a trickle of relief in a growing humanitarian nightmare.

Trump had promised progress on a ceasefire. But the only thing delivered so far is silence and more weapons.

Critics say the U.S. must stop pretending to be a neutral broker while continuing to arm one side. In the words of a former Israeli hostage now protesting for peace: “Arrogance is what brought this disaster upon us.”
