Tragedy struck Minnesota’s Capitol today as a state lawmaker was shot and killed, and another injured in what authorities are calling a “targeted political assassination.”
The shooter, described as a lone gunman with ties to a domestic extremist group, opened fire outside a constituent event. The attack has reignited debates over political violence, gun laws, and rising extremism across the United States.
“This is not just a crime this is an attack on democracy itself,” said Minnesota Governor Elise Horvath, who has called for an emergency session of the state legislature.
A massive manhunt is underway, with federal and local law enforcement agencies involved.
