The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is making a much-anticipated comeback to mainland China with the announcement of UFC Fight Night Shanghai, scheduled for August 31, 2025. This will be the UFC’s first event in mainland China since 2019, reigniting the passion of MMA fans across the region.
The event will take place at the state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz Arena, featuring an action-packed lineup of international contenders and rising Chinese talent. UFC executives say the return to Shanghai reflects the sport’s growing popularity in Asia and marks a major step in expanding its global footprint.
“We’re thrilled to be back in Shanghai,” said UFC President Dana White. “China has some of the most passionate fight fans in the world, and we’re excited to put on a show that delivers the intensity and talent the UFC is known for.”
