In a significant step toward strengthening digital cooperation, Nigeria and Somalia have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on data protection and cybersecurity.
The agreement was formalized during a bilateral meeting between Nigeria’s National Commissioner for Data Protection, Dr. Vincent Olatunji, and his Somali counterpart in Abuja.
The MoU aims to improve legal frameworks, information sharing, and training in cyber threat prevention.
Experts view the partnership as a model for pan-African digital collaboration, especially as cybercrimes and data breaches become increasingly frequent across the continent.
