An emotional video circulating on social media is drawing attention across Nigeria after an elderly woman tearfully pleaded with the country’s leaders to take urgent action over the safety of soldiers fighting terrorists.
In the video, the woman who says her son is currently serving in the Nigerian military breaks down as she speaks about the dangers soldiers face in the bush while battling insurgents and other armed groups.
“My son is in the bush,” she said while crying.
“I told him that if he cannot continue, he should come back home. God will feed us.”

According to her, the situation facing soldiers today appears far worse than what her husband experienced during his own military career.
She explained that her husband served in the army for 36 years, yet never encountered the kind of hardship and danger that many soldiers now face.
“My husband was a soldier for 36 years, but he never saw this,” she said.
The woman accused Nigerian leaders of failing to protect the young soldiers sent to the front lines.
“You people are taking our children to make money,” she said emotionally.
“God of vengeance, fight for our children. I speak from a broken heart.”
Her comments reflect the growing frustration among many Nigerians over the country’s ongoing security challenges, including insurgency, banditry, and attacks by armed groups in several regions.

Others urged caution, noting that videos circulating online often reflect personal experiences rather than official reports.
Still, the emotional plea has resonated widely, serving as a reminder of the human cost of Nigeria’s long-running security battles.
“Leaders of Nigeria, we are begging you people, our children are in the bush. I told my son that if he can’t continue, please come back home, God will feed us. My husband was a soldier for 36 years but never encountered this. Now small children are suffering in the bush, you… pic.twitter.com/Taj7aZENay
