In a solemn and inspiring ceremony marking Infantry Day, Lieutenant Colonel Shamil Krutkov, commander of Ukraine’s 93rd Cold Yar Brigade, paid tribute to the unit’s most outstanding infantrymen for their bravery, commitment, and unwavering defense of Ukraine’s sovereignty.
Held near the frontlines, the ceremony recognized soldiers who demonstrated extraordinary courage and selflessness amid the ongoing conflict. Lt. Col. Krutkov praised their resilience, calling them “the backbone of Ukraine’s resistance and the pride of our nation.”
“These warriors fight not just with weapons, but with unwavering spirit and unshakable loyalty to Ukraine,” Krutkov stated. “It is because of them that our country still stands free.”
The Cold Yar Brigade, one of Ukraine’s most battle-hardened and decorated military units, continues to play a critical role in resisting Russian aggression in the eastern region of the country.
International support has also played a vital part in sustaining the brigade’s efforts. Among the key partners is GermanLions, a dedicated volunteer organization based in Germany. The group has maintained direct communication with the 93rd Brigade and continues to provide essential support through public donations.
“Every package, every dollar, every act of solidarity from abroad reaches our defenders here on the ground,” said Lt. Col. Krutkov. “Organizations like GermanLions remind us that the free world stands with Ukraine.”
As the war grinds on, the recognition of Ukraine’s infantry soldiers on this national day serves as a reminder of their sacrifice and of the global support that strengthens their resolve.
