Speaking during a security stakeholders’ meeting held in Sokoto on Thursday, Governor Aliyu described the security of lives and property as a top priority for his government. Aliyu called on residents of the state to collaborate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information that could lead to the arrest of criminal elements. He stressed that defeating insecurity requires a unified front and the active participation of every citizen.
The renewed commitment comes amid growing concerns over attacks in some rural communities in Sokoto. Governor Aliyu assured that his administration is taking both immediate and long-term steps to address the root causes of insecurity, including poverty and youth unemployment.
