Five kidnapped individuals were successfully rescued on Tuesday by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun, following a covert operation in a forest along the Owo-Ifon axis.
The abductors had demanded a ₦150 million ransom before Amotekun operatives, acting on intelligence, stormed the hideout and overpowered the criminals. No ransom was paid, and the victims are currently receiving medical attention. The operation was lauded by residents and government officials as a major win against rising insecurity in the state.
