An early morning fire outbreak has destroyed at least 12 shops in a local market in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, leaving traders devastated and counting heavy losses.
Eyewitnesses told Dobblog that the fire began around 2:40 AM and quickly spread through the wooden stalls before emergency services could respond. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, but many suspect a faulty generator or an illegal power connection.
