Tensions flared once again in the disputed region of Kashmir, as Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged live gunfire late last night.
Military sources in the region said the clash lasted over an hour, with both sides blaming each other for provoking the skirmish. No civilian casualties were confirmed, but nearby villages reportedly went into lockdown.

The United Nations has urged restraint. “Escalation benefits no one. Both sides must uphold peace protocols,” said a UN South Asia coordinator.
The Kashmir conflict, which has simmered for decades, remains one of the world’s longest unresolved border disputes.
