Israeli Ambassador Accuses Iran of Sponsoring Terrorism in Nigeria

The Israeli ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, has accused Iran of supporting extremist movements operating in Nigeria.

Speaking during a recent interview, the ambassador claimed that Iran backs certain groups in the country as part of a broader strategy to expand its influence and destabilize regions outside the Middle East.

According to him, Tehran has been involved in supporting organizations that could threaten Nigeria’s stability.

However, the Iranian government has strongly denied the accusation.

The Iranian ambassador to Nigeria, Gholamreza Mahdavi Raja, described the claims as unfounded and politically motivated.

He said Iran values its relationship with Nigeria and supports international efforts to combat terrorism.

The allegation has also drawn reactions from members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, who rejected the claims and warned that such statements could create unnecessary tensions.

Political observers say the accusation highlights growing geopolitical tensions between Israel and Iran, which have long been rivals in global politics.

As of now, Nigerian authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the allegations.
