In a moment that left the studio in stunned silence and the internet ablaze, comedian and political commentator Jon Stewart tore into former President Donald Trump in a live broadcast of The Daily Show, delivering one of the most powerful public takedowns of the year.

Trump’s campaign has not responded to the viral moment but his base is already firing back, calling Stewart “a washed-up liberal puppet.” Still, for millions of viewers, the truth in his words hit deep.
“We don’t need another strongman with a microphone. We need truth, respect, and sanity. That’s leadership. That’s America.”
