A wave of public outrage is sweeping across the United States as voters accuse top political leaders of failing to deliver on promises to “make America great again” instead spending billions of taxpayer dollars on programs and priorities that do little to improve everyday life.
From coast to coast, Americans are venting their frustration over what they call misplaced national priorities, with growing anger toward both parties for focusing on foreign aid, political theater, and elite pet projects while ignoring crumbling infrastructure, rising homelessness, and the cost-of-living crisis.
“You’ve never made America great,” said Chicago resident Marcus Ellison during a televised town hall. “You’re spending our money on things that don’t matter while schools fall apart, streets stay broken, and people can’t afford rent.”

A new bipartisan report reveals that in the past year alone, Congress approved:
• Over $115 billion in foreign assistance and overseas military support.
• More than $20 billion in technology initiatives with minimal local impact.
• Millions in “consulting” and “advisory” contracts with vague outcomes.
Meanwhile, domestic challenges continue to escalate. Nearly 40 million Americans live below the poverty line, and major U.S. cities are grappling with spikes in homelessness, violent crime, and housing shortages.

Critics say these issues are being ignored while lawmakers focus on headlines instead of homes.
“We’re not against helping the world,” said Arizona teacher Linda Gomez. “But how can we lead the world when we can’t even take care of our own?”
Social media has amplified the backlash, with hashtags like #FixHomeFirst and #AmericaNotGreatYet trending across platforms. Even some former government officials have admitted that Washington has become detached from the real struggles of working Americans.
As the 2026 midterm elections approach, both parties are feeling the heat and voters are demanding real answers, not slogans.
“Making America great means starting at home,” said Gomez. “And until that happens, no speech or budget bill will fix what’s broken.”
