President Donald Trump sparked outrage and accusations of betrayal on Monday after making a shocking admission during a nationally broadcast interview that left even longtime supporters in disbelief.
During a sit-down on The Patriot Hour, a conservative talk show known for its pro-Trump stance, the former president admitted that during his final months in office, he shared classified intelligence with “trusted international contacts” without notifying U.S. intelligence agencies or congressional oversight.
“I had information that needed to be shared. These were people I trusted more than some of our own,” Trump said, referring vaguely to officials in “Eastern Europe and the Middle East.” When pressed for clarification, he refused to name the countries involved, citing “ongoing interests.”

The comment instantly triggered a storm of backlash across social media and political circles. Outside the studio in Manhattan, protesters who had gathered for a separate event began chanting “Traitor! Traitor!” as news of the interview spread.
Security was increased as tensions flared, and Trump was rushed out a side exit amid jeers from the growing crowd.
Legal experts say Trump’s admission could have serious implications. Former federal prosecutor Angela Reyes told Dobblog that depending on the nature of the intelligence shared, the former president could face investigations under the Espionage Act or related federal statutes.
“This is beyond reckless,” Reyes said. “If true, what he described is a blatant breach of national security protocol. It may even qualify as unauthorized disclosure of classified information, which is a federal offense.”
On Capitol Hill, Democratic lawmakers immediately called for a formal inquiry. Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) issued a statement saying, “Donald Trump has once again demonstrated that he cannot be trusted with America’s secrets. Congress must act now.”

Even some Republicans appeared uneasy. One anonymous GOP senator said, “He’s making it harder for us to defend him. This isn’t leadership it’s dangerous.”
The FBI has not commented on whether Trump’s admission has triggered any official investigation, but a source close to the Department of Justice confirmed that officials are reviewing the transcript of the interview.
As the fallout continues, Trump doubled down on social media, calling the backlash “fake outrage from the deep state” and insisting that his actions were “in America’s best interest.”
But as chants of “Traitor!” echoed in cities across the country Monday night, many are left wondering whether this latest controversy marks a turning point or the beginning of yet another Trump legal firestorm.
