President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerian workers that better days are coming, despite the ongoing economic challenges facing the country.
Speaking during the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration, Tinubu acknowledged the sacrifices and perseverance of workers across all sectors. He emphasized that his administration is working on reforms to tackle unemployment, improve infrastructure, and raise living standards.
“We understand your struggles, and we are not turning a blind eye,” he said. “This is not the Nigeria we want. But we will fix it together.”

Nigerian workers continue to face the effects of high inflation, stagnant wages, and rising cost of living. Labour unions have recently called for wage reviews and policies to cushion the economic pressure.
Tinubu urged patience, stating that key initiatives are already being rolled out to revamp the economy and restore hope.
Government insiders say plans are underway to review minimum wage structures and roll out large-scale employment projects before the end of Q2 2025.
The Nigeria Labour Congress has acknowledged the president’s address but insists that actions, not just words, are needed urgently.
