“The EFCC Wouldn’t Arrest VeryDarkMan If He Hasn’t Committed Any Crimes” - Comedian DeeOne Sparks Controversy

Nigerian comedian DeeOne has stirred fresh controversy online after commenting on the recent arrest of popular social media critic, VeryDarkMan. In a bold statement shared via his Instagram story, DeeOne claimed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) would not arrest anyone unless they had a case to answer.

His post reads: “The EFCC wouldn’t arrest VeryDarkMan if he hasn’t committed any crimes. They are not mad. Think am.”

The remark has sparked backlash on social media, with many Nigerians accusing the comedian of being insensitive and biased, especially given the history of controversial arrests by the agency. Supporters of VeryDarkMan argue that the outspoken influencer is often targeted for speaking truth to power and exposing societal ills.
