A new education policy proposal in Texas is stirring massive backlash after documents leaked online showed plans to implant digital microchips under students’ skin to monitor attendance and “ensure campus safety.”
The pilot program, set to begin in three counties, would involve RFID-enabled chips injected into students’ hands. Officials argue it’s safer and faster than ID cards.

Parents are outraged. Civil liberty groups have slammed the proposal as “bio-surveillance of minors” and say it violates both ethical standards and human rights.
“This is not education it’s digital control,” said one concerned parent during a protest outside the school board office.
While the state has not officially approved the plan, sources say tech companies are already building the required infrastructure.
