A 16-year-old student from Lincoln Ridge High School in Jefferson City, Missouri, has gone missing after leaving school on Friday afternoon. The student, Emily Carter, was last seen walking away from the school around 3:30 PM but did not arrive home as expected.
Local police say they are investigating the situation and have asked anyone with information to come forward. Surveillance cameras near the school recorded a suspicious vehicle in the area shortly after Emily left campus.
Police Chief Mark Reynolds said, “We are doing everything we can to find Emily and bring her home safely. We are working with other law enforcement agencies to follow all leads.”
The school’s principal, Diane Walters, told parents and students that the school is very concerned and is helping with the investigation. She also promised to improve safety measures to protect students.
