In a major move to recover looted national wealth, the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, today officially handed over a massive 750-unit luxury housing estate to the Federal Ministry of Housing.
The estate, reportedly seized from individuals connected to high-level financial crimes, features state-of-the-art duplexes located in a prime area. The handover took place in Abuja, with the Minister of Housing receiving the keys on behalf of the federal government.
According to Olukoyede, this marks a bold step in the government’s effort to not only tackle corruption but also recover and repurpose stolen assets for public benefit. “The era of looters hiding behind properties is over,” he said.

The Minister of Housing confirmed that the estate will soon be opened for purchase by interested Nigerian buyers. “We are working to ensure transparency and affordability,” he added, noting that the funds recovered from the sales will go back into the national treasury to serve the people.
This move comes at a time when millions of Nigerians are in need of decent housing, and the government has been under pressure to show tangible results in its anti-corruption war.
The announcement has sparked public interest, with many hopeful that more seized assets across the country will be converted into resources that directly benefit the masses.
