At Least 14 Chicago Police Officers Linked to Multiple Sexual Misconduct Allegations Over the Past Decade

A disturbing new revelation is shaking public confidence in the Chicago Police Department, as an internal investigation and disciplinary records have identified at least 14 active-duty officers who have faced multiple allegations of sexual assault or misconduct within the last ten years.

According to official records reviewed over the past month, these officers have been the subject of repeated complaints filed by both civilians and fellow officers. Allegations range from inappropriate conduct during traffic stops to serious accusations of assault against women in custody or during off-duty encounters.

Despite the gravity of these claims, many of the accused officers remain on active duty some even holding supervisory roles. Internal investigations resulted in little or no disciplinary action in several cases, raising fresh concerns about transparency and accountability within one of the nation’s largest police departments.

Legal experts and civil rights organizations are calling for immediate independent oversight. “It is unacceptable for officers with multiple sexual misconduct allegations to continue wearing the badge unchecked,” said Tanya Ruiz, a lawyer with the Midwest Justice Alliance. “This reflects a systemic failure to protect victims and enforce accountability.”

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s office has yet to issue an official response, but local activists are already planning a demonstration outside CPD headquarters, demanding resignations and the implementation of stronger vetting and disciplinary procedures.

The CPD has not denied the existence of the allegations but stated that “every case is thoroughly investigated,” and that disciplinary outcomes depend on the strength of evidence presented.

The identities of the 14 officers are being withheld pending further investigation, though watchdog groups are pressing for the public release of their names.

This development adds to a growing list of controversies surrounding the Chicago Police Department, which has faced national criticism for excessive force, civil rights violations, and a culture of impunity.

Further updates are expected as more disciplinary files are reviewed and legal action is considered by several alleged victims.
