“Anyone Who Attacks North Korea Will Face a Big Loss” - Russian Military Analyst Warns

A prominent Russian military analyst has issued a chilling warning to global powers, stating that any country that dares to launch an attack on North Korea “will face a big loss.” The statement, delivered during a televised panel discussion in Moscow, has reignited global debate over the military strength and strategic alliances of the reclusive Asian nation.

Colonel Sergei Andropov (Ret.), a former Russian intelligence official and senior analyst at the Moscow Institute of Global Security, made the bold declaration during a heated exchange on Russia’s Channel One, one of the country’s most-watched political talk shows.

“Let me be absolutely clear,” Andropov said. “Attacking North Korea is not a good idea it’s not a warning, it’s a fact. Whoever does it will suffer major losses. North Korea is not as isolated as people think, and its defenses have grown stronger, not weaker.”

The comment comes amid rising tensions in the Asia-Pacific region, where recent joint military drills by the United States, South Korea, and Japan have been condemned by Pyongyang as acts of provocation. North Korea, in response, test-fired several short-range missiles and claimed to have successfully simulated a “nuclear counterstrike drill.”

While many Western analysts dismiss the idea of North Korea being capable of winning a full-scale war, figures like Andropov argue otherwise.

“This is not 1994,” he continued. “North Korea has advanced missile systems, hardened underground facilities, and most importantly an unmatched will to defend its sovereignty. People mock them, but that’s exactly why they’re dangerous.”

According to reports from defense watchers, North Korea has strengthened military ties not only with Russia and China but also with Iran and some African nations. Joint technology exchanges, underground arms trades, and satellite communication upgrades have been cited in recent UN intelligence assessments.

“The idea that North Korea stands alone is a Western fantasy,” said Dr. Lin Chao-yun, a Taiwanese security expert. “In reality, they have silent backers, stockpiled resources, and strategic terrain advantages. Any invasion would be met with more than just resistance it would trigger regional chaos.”

Although the North Korean leader has not responded directly to the latest round of drills or the comments from Russia, a new mural unveiled this week in Pyongyang reads: “The Price of Invasion Is Annihilation.” This, experts believe, sends a strong message without the need for a speech.

As diplomatic efforts continue to stall, Andropov’s words serve as a harsh reminder that in today’s shifting geopolitical landscape, North Korea is a fuse that cannot be carelessly lit.

“It’s not about whether you can destroy North Korea,” Andropov concluded. “It’s about whether you’re willing to survive the price of doing so.”
