Police Now Worship Fraudsters and Politicians’ Side Chicks - Deji Adeyanju Blows Hot

In a fiery statement on Monday, popular activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, criticized the Nigerian police, accusing the force of abandoning its core duties to celebrate fraudsters and the side chicks of politicians.

Adeyanju, known for his vocal stance on governance and human rights, alleged that the police have “lost their moral compass” and are now more interested in associating with questionable figures rather than protecting citizens and upholding the law.

“It is a shame that the Nigerian police, once respected for its bravery and discipline, has now become an extension of fraud star PR teams and politicians’ side chick fan clubs,” Adeyanju said in a post shared with journalists in Abuja. “Rather than investigate crimes and enforce the law, we now see senior officers dancing at parties thrown by the same people they should be questioning.”

He further alleged that police officers were now easily swayed by financial inducements and social influence, ignoring the rise in insecurity across the country.

“Our citizens are being kidnapped daily. Bandits are roaming free. Yet the same officers who are supposed to protect us are busy spraying money at events organized by fraud stars and politicians’ mistresses. It’s embarrassing,” he added.

Adeyanju called for urgent police reforms, including stricter disciplinary measures against officers who fraternize with individuals of questionable character.

“This mockery must end. If we don’t act now, we are heading toward total lawlessness where there will be no difference between those who break the law and those who are paid to enforce it,” he warned.

As of the time of this report, the Nigerian police have not issued an official response to Adeyanju’s allegations.
