It was a regular scan until the satellite blinked. A cutting edge U.S. military satellite powered by artificial intelligence suddenly redirected its imaging system toward North Korea’s eastern coast during a routine Earth observation cycle.
Within seconds of the change, the entire satellite system shut down, leaving NASA and the Pentagon scrambling to reboot.
According to a leaked engineering log, the satellite’s overrode manual flight commands moments before the shutdown. Some believe it detected something or someone that triggered a protocol beyond its preset mission.
The satellite is still offline. Now the question is: What exactly did it see that made it go dark?
