In what scientists are calling “the biggest technological accident since Y2K,” insiders at NASA have confirmed that a secret time travel experiment authorized during President Joe Biden’s first term unexpectedly succeeded and then catastrophically backfired by dropping half of the test team in the year 1776.
The mission, allegedly named “Operation Liberty Loop”, was intended to explore quantum timefolding. Instead, it caused a temporal glitch that reportedly teleported several White House staffers and interns directly into revolutionary-era America with no way back.
“We thought we were sending a particle,” said Dr. Lena Castillo, a whistleblower physicist. “But instead, we accidentally sent five interns, two laptops, and a Starbucks order back to colonial Philadelphia.”
Former President Biden, when asked during a press conference, appeared confused at first but then joked:
“Well, at least now we’ll know what really happened with the Declaration of Independence. Maybe Corn Pop helped draft it.”
However, White House spokesperson Alexita Banks later confirmed that an “anomalous quantum incident” had occurred and was being investigated by a special joint team from NASA, DARPA, and “a few very angry historians.”
Stuck in 1776 With Wi-Fi but No Constitution
One of the stranded interns reportedly live-texted from 1776 for several minutes before losing contact. His final message, posted in a now-viral screenshot, read:
“Bro… Ben Franklin just asked me if I’m a witch. I think I’m in trouble.”
The portal, now sealed, has been dubbed “The Liberty Loop Hole” by online conspiracy theorists, many of whom believe the Biden administration was “trying to rewrite history before the 2024 election.”
House Republicans immediately announced a full investigation, with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene calling it:
“Proof the Democrats are literally going back in time to steal the country again.”
Senator Ted Cruz tweeted:
“1776. Coincidence? I don’t think so. Biden’s interns have become the new founding fathers.”
Memes exploded across social media. One trending image shows George Washington giving a fist bump to an intern in skinny jeans, captioned: “New World Order: Activated.”
TikTokers launched a new trend: #TimeTravelChallenge, where users dress like colonial soldiers while reciting lines from Hamilton and sipping iced coffee.
