In a bizarre yet serious-sounding development, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has issued a classified memo leaked to the public that warns U.S. officials about the “emerging threat of meme-based cyber warfare” allegedly originating from Gen Z social media accounts.
According to insiders, the memo outlines how platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) are being flooded with satirical and surreal memes that, while humorous on the surface, are creating “widespread societal disengagement, cognitive overload, and international confusion.”
“This isn’t just about jokes anymore,” said one unnamed cybersecurity official. “We’re talking about psychological disruptions created in real-time, in the form of frog pictures, SpongeBob edits, and something called ’Skibidi Toilet.’”

The CIA has reportedly categorized these memes under a new threat level code-named “Operation LOLstrike.”
The report cites several incidents where meme trends may have directly influenced international relations:
• A “diss track war” between Gen Z TikTokers in the U.S. and their counterparts in China reportedly caused diplomatic delays during trade talks.
• A fake viral post about NATO launching a military operation called “Slay Force One” led to real panic in parts of Eastern Europe.
• Gen Z edits portraying world leaders as anime characters are said to be “degrading respect for formal institutions.”
“Memes are no longer just a cultural expression they are a decentralized digital force capable of destabilizing entire generations’ ability to discern real from parody.”
However, the White House also confirmed the formation of a new task force called M.I.S.T. (Meme Intelligence Surveillance Team), staffed by millennials and Gen Z agents fluent in “internet irony, chaotic energy, and TikTok transitions.”
Online, the reaction was swift and brutal. Thousands of meme creators mocked the report with doctored CIA logos reading “Certified Ironic Agency” and slogans like “We Came to Slay, Not Obey.”
“If they’re scared of our memes, just wait until they find out we communicate entirely in side-eyes and emojis.”
