In a twist no one saw coming, Kendrick Lamar has finally opened up about the one person who pushed him to be better and it’s none other than Drake.
During a surprise backstage moment after his recent award win, Kendrick didn’t hold back:
“Iron sharpens iron. Drake brought the best out of me. That rivalry wasn’t hate it was fuel.”
The internet went wild. Fans who followed their lyrical battles from “Control” to “Not Like Us” were stunned to hear Kendrick offer respect instead of a victory lap. It’s the kind of grown-man energy hip-hop hasn’t seen in a while real recognition, not rehearsed shade.
Twitter is calling it “the most mature moment in rap history.”
Maybe the lesson here is that competition isn’t always about enemies. Sometimes, your biggest rival is also your greatest teacher.
