The deportation, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning, was coordinated by Ireland’s Garda National Immigration Bureau in collaboration with European Union enforcement agencies. Officials say all individuals had exhausted their legal rights to remain.
A source familiar with the operation told Dobblog that the deportees included asylum seekers, overstayers, and undocumented workers. Many had lived in Ireland for over a decade.

In a statement, Irish authorities insisted the deportations followed due process and that individuals were offered voluntary return options.
However, advocacy groups argue the deportations were inhumane. “Some of these families have never known any home but Ireland,” said Funmi Adebayo of the Migrant Protection Council.
The Nigerian government has not issued an official response, but the returnees were received by immigration officers at Abuja and Lagos airports.
