Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has openly rejected a new nuclear proposal from the United States, vowing instead to intensify uranium enrichment activities. This decision has deepened fears of a renewed nuclear standoff in the already unstable Middle East.
The U.S. offer, backed by several European allies, reportedly proposed a phased lifting of sanctions in exchange for strict limits on Iran’s nuclear program. However, Iranian state television broadcasted a fiery address from Khamenei, declaring that “no true nation accepts conditions that compromise its sovereignty.”

Iran’s nuclear agency confirmed that the country will now enrich uranium to levels previously unseen, citing the “failure of Western diplomacy” as justification.
Washington, in response, called the decision “irresponsible and provocative,” warning that all diplomatic options including military deterrents remain on the table. Israel has also raised alarms, calling the rejection “a red line crossed.”
The development comes just weeks after satellite images showed new construction near Iran’s Natanz facility, hinting at expanded nuclear capabilities.
