The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir festival.
In a statement signed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the government urged all Muslims and Nigerians at large to celebrate peacefully and remember the essence of sacrifice, unity, and compassion.

Security agencies across the nation have been directed to ensure the safety of citizens during the holiday period, especially in hotspots prone to unrest.
Markets and transportation hubs are already recording increased activity as citizens prepare for the Sallah celebration.
