The European Space Agency (ESA) made space history this week by releasing the first-ever high-resolution images of the Sun’s South Pole, captured by the Solar Orbiter.
The images are offering scientists critical insight into solar winds, magnetic storms, and future space weather forecasting.
“This is like seeing the dark side of the sun,” said ESA lead researcher Dr. Clara Bianchi.
NASA plans to use the data for satellite and astronaut protection during future Mars missions.
