South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has offered a fresh trade agreement to the United States following weeks of intense criticism from former President Donald Trump, who accused South Africa of mismanaging its domestic policies.
Speaking during a press briefing in Cape Town, Ramaphosa said, “South Africa believes in dialogue over division. Our shared economic interests must outweigh political noise.”
The trade proposal includes provisions for green energy exports, rare earth minerals, and digital tech partnerships. Analysts say it could reset the strained diplomatic tone between the two nations.
