NSA Ribadu: Tinubu Administration Has Decimated Mass Killings and Terrorist Attacks

National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has declared that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has significantly reduced the wave of mass killings, abductions, and terrorist attacks that plagued Nigeria under previous governments.

Speaking during a high level security briefing in Abuja on Thursday, Ribadu emphasized that recent data and intelligence reports show a sharp decline in coordinated attacks across many previously volatile regions, particularly in the North-East and North-West.

“President Tinubu’s decisive leadership and investment in strategic intelligence, collaboration with local communities, and acquisition of modern security technologies have drastically curtailed the threats we inherited,” Ribadu stated.

According to the NSA, improved synergy between security agencies and the armed forces, alongside increased surveillance and the deployment of special forces, has dismantled major terror camps and disrupted kidnapping networks.

“We are not yet where we want to be, but compared to a year ago, Nigeria is safer today. Incidents of mass abductions in schools and villages have dropped, and major highways that were once dangerous are now seeing a return to normalcy,” he added.

Ribadu also hinted at a renewed focus on community policing and intelligence gathering to sustain the momentum, assuring Nigerians that the government remains committed to ensuring lasting peace and stability.

Security experts have cautiously welcomed the statement, calling for transparency and independent verification of the data. However, many residents in affected areas confirm that security presence and response time have improved over recent months.

The statement comes as the federal government ramps up efforts to restore public confidence and reassure citizens ahead of the 2027 general elections.
