In a move set to offer some relief to motorists across Nigeria, the Dangote Refinery has announced a nationwide slash in petrol prices by ₦15 per litre. The revised prices, effective immediately, will now range between ₦875 and ₦905 depending on regional logistics and transportation costs.
The adjustment follows weeks of stakeholder engagements and growing public concern over the high cost of fuel, which has significantly impacted transportation and commodity prices.
According to inside sources, this price cut is part of Dangote Group’s broader strategy to stabilize domestic fuel supply and ease inflationary pressure on the Nigerian economy. Marketers in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt have already begun updating pump prices to reflect the new rates.

This development marks the first major downward shift in fuel pricing since the refinery began large-scale production earlier this year.
More updates are expected from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) in the coming hours regarding further distribution adjustments.
