Large parts of Europe are under emergency alert as wildfires rage across multiple countries, forcing thousands to evacuate their homes. From the Mediterranean coast to inland villages, firefighters are working around the clock to contain fast-moving flames driven by scorching temperatures and strong winds.
In southern France, entire towns have been evacuated after flames tore through forests and farmland, leaving a trail of destruction. Greece and Spain are also facing massive fires, with helicopters and water-bombing aircraft deployed in a desperate effort to protect communities.

Authorities say a combination of record-breaking heatwaves, prolonged drought, and gusty winds has created “perfect storm” conditions for wildfires to spread rapidly. Climate experts warn that Europe’s fire season is becoming longer and more intense due to global warming.
While there have been no confirmed fatalities at this stage, dozens have been treated for smoke inhalation and heat-related illnesses. Officials continue to urge residents in high-risk areas to prepare for immediate evacuation if conditions worsen.
