It’s the second handshake in 24 hours and this time, it might just be the one that changes everything.
President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a second high-stakes meeting at the White House late Tuesday, as hopes rise for a breakthrough in the long-delayed Gaza ceasefire. Sources close to the talks say the two leaders are “closer than ever” to sealing a deal that could finally stop the bombs and bring home the hostages.
One issue left. That’s it. According to insiders, four major sticking points have now been whittled down to just one. And if resolved, the world could see a formal ceasefire agreement within days.
So what’s the holdup? It all comes down to Israeli troop withdrawal specifically, how and when forces will exit strategic zones like the Morag Corridor. Netanyahu reportedly remains firm that any ceasefire must still allow Israel to eliminate Hamas’s presence in Gaza completely.

Still, Trump appears undeterred. After a 90-minute Oval Office meeting and an earlier dinner the night before Trump is said to be applying “maximum pressure” behind the scenes to get Netanyahu to greenlight the deal.
Here’s what the deal on the table looks like:
• A 60-day truce to pause the violence.
• The release of 10 living hostages, plus 9 deceased.
• Immediate delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
• A phased, conditional IDF withdrawal.
While some say this is the closest both sides have come in months, others warn that even one unresolved detail could unravel the whole thing.
“Trump is determined to bring this home,” a senior source told Axios. “But it all hinges on that last demand.”
As Qatari mediators prepare to step in and negotiators shuffle schedules to accommodate the momentum, the world is watching and praying. After nine months of bloodshed, broken homes, and headlines full of grief, just maybe this time, peace has a chance.
