Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, just five days after officially leaving the club.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed that the charges involve three women and relate to incidents said to have occurred between October 2021 and July 2022. Partey, 32, is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5, 2025.
Partey’s legal team has denied all allegations and stated he has cooperated fully with the investigation over the past three years.
Arsenal Football Club acknowledged his departure on June 30 but has made no comment regarding the charges, citing the ongoing legal process.
The CPS has urged the public and media to avoid speculation or comments that could affect the fairness of the trial. The case has sparked widespread attention across the football world and beyond.
