Marcus hadn’t seen his son in 6 years. Fresh out of prison and broke, he had no car, no phone. But when he heard his son was in the hospital, he started walking.
From St. Louis to Kansas City on foot.
Through rain. Hunger. Blisters. Cold. But 8 miles from the hospital, he collapsed on the roadside.
A stranger picked him up, shared his story on Facebook.
By the time Marcus reached his son’s bedside, there were dozens of people waiting, cheering him on. Even a job offer.
“I made mistakes,” he said. “But I’ll never stop being a father.”
