Families in southern Lebanon were told it was safe to return home after a temporary ceasefire was announced.
Children were smiling. Fathers carried supplies back into broken homes. For a brief moment, there was hope. But just hours later, Israeli airstrikes ripped through the same neighborhoods again.
Hospitals are now overwhelmed. Mothers are screaming. And trust in any “peace deal” is gone.
Locals say the ceasefire was a lie or worse, a trap. “We believed them,” one survivor cried. “We came back, and they bombed us again.” If there was ever a moment for peace, it’s gone now buried in smoke and rubble.
