What began as a night of joy quickly turned into panic in downtown Oklahoma City.
Moments after the Thunder’s historic NBA Finals victory celebration wrapped up, gunshots rang out near the heart of the city. At least one person was injured in the chaos that followed, casting a dark shadow over what should’ve been a night of unity and triumph.
Police quickly secured the area and confirmed that the victim was transported to a local hospital. Their condition has not yet been released.

Witnesses described a moment of confusion and fear. “We were all just cheering, dancing, and then we heard the shots. Everyone scattered,” said one paradegoer who was just feet away from the scene.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the shooting was related to the event or a separate incident nearby. An investigation is underway.
City officials are urging anyone with information or footage of the moment to come forward, and while celebrations may continue across the city, many now carry a sense of unease.
