Podcast host Joe Rogan has raised concerns about the ingredients used in American bread, saying it makes many people feel sick and tired, unlike bread in Europe.
Speaking with comedian Jim Norton on his show, Rogan agreed that American bread is filled with chemicals and additives that make people feel unwell. Norton said, “Our bread is f*ed. Go overseas to Italy and eat bread you don’t feel bad at all. Our st is poison.” Rogan replied, “It makes a difference when you cut it from your diet.”
Rogan mentioned a video sent to him by comedian Brian Simpson, which compared bread in the U.S. to bread in other countries. After watching it, Simpson said, “I think I’m done with bread,” and Rogan agreed, calling the differences “kind of crazy.”
However, Rogan did say that sourdough bread is still good, encouraging listeners to eat that instead.
Experts have long pointed out that many types of bread in the U.S. contain preservatives, sugar, and chemicals that are banned in other countries. Rogan’s comments add to the ongoing conversation about food safety and ingredients in the American diet.
