Ten year old Liam Jacobs had never written a letter before. But after hearing his mom cry over medical bills again, he sat down with a pencil and addressed it to The President of America.
“My dad fought in the war,” Liam wrote. “He got sick from the chemicals. Now he’s in a bed all the time. We don’t have the money. Please help us.”
Liam’s dad, a retired Marine, suffers from a degenerative illness linked to toxic exposure and has been denied full VA coverage.
Whether it reaches the White House or not, one thing is clear, the fight for veterans doesn’t end when the war does.
