In a move no one saw coming, tech billionaire Elon Musk has issued a rare public apology not for a product delay or a tweet gone wrong, but for mocking former President Donald Trump.
“I regret some of my past comments about Trump,” Musk said during a live interview on X Spaces. “They were emotional, not thoughtful. I let ego get in the way of objectivity.”
“Look, I don’t agree with everything Trump did. But mocking him publicly didn’t help anyone. It just made things worse.”
The internet predictably exploded.
Some praised Musk’s maturity. Others accused him of backpedaling for business reasons. Trump supporters welcomed the apology, with one Truth Social user writing: “Even Elon knows real leadership when he sees it.”
Critics, however, weren’t buying it.
“Apologizing to Trump isn’t growth. It’s cowardice,” one progressive account tweeted.
Still, the moment marked something rare in today’s political world a powerful man admitting he went too far.
Whether it’s sincerity or strategy, one thing is clear: Elon Musk just shifted the conversation again.
