In what’s being called one of the most disturbing abuse scandals in recent church history, a Wichita youth pastor has been accused of sexually abusing at least 23 young students under his care turning a place of worship into a hidden chamber of trauma.
The accused, whose name is being withheld pending formal charges, was a familiar figure in his Kansas community leading youth retreats, preaching at Sunday school, and often seen as a “spiritual father” to dozens of teens.
But now, former students are coming forward with chilling allegations, describing years of emotional manipulation, grooming, and sexual abuse that took place within church walls, homes, and even youth group trips.

“He told us God had chosen us for something special,” one survivor said. “Now I realize it was just a lie to keep us quiet.”
The church where he served has issued a brief statement saying they are “fully cooperating with authorities,” but critics say the leadership ignored warning signs and complaints for years.
Local law enforcement confirmed that 23 victims have been identified so far, with more expected to come forward.
The investigation is ongoing, and the pastor has not yet been formally charged but officials say the case is growing rapidly, with evidence spanning nearly a decade. Some church documents and personal devices have been seized.
This isn’t just a scandal. It’s a betrayal of faith, trust, and innocence.
