A 25-year-old man was fatally shot Monday afternoon on E. 174th Street in the Bronx in what police believe was a targeted attack.
Eyewitnesses say the suspect fled the scene on a moped wearing a black hoodie and mask. No arrests have been made as the NYPD canvasses local surveillance footage.
The victim, whose name is being withheld pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene. This marks the third fatal shooting in the Bronx this month.
Residents are demanding more police patrols and community intervention programs to stem the rising violence.
