Harvard University has taken a bold stance against looming federal budget cuts that threaten research funding across academic institutions.
In a public letter to Congress, Harvard President Claudine Gay warned that reductions could harm national innovation in medicine, technology, and climate research. “An attack on university funding is an attack on the future of America’s leadership,” the letter stated.
Harvard and other Ivy League schools are now forming a coalition to lobby Capitol Hill, seeking bipartisan support to preserve research grants.
