America said it was changing. Corporations posted black squares. Politicians took a knee. But 5 years later, nothing really changed.
Black CEOs? Still less than 2%. Black homeowners? Dropping fast. Police brutality? Still viral. Still deadly.
“They gave us diversity in ads, but not in power,” said author Deon Wiley. “They used our faces to sell peace. But behind the scenes, the same people run everything.”
Even within movements, Black organizers are underfunded, under credited, and sidelined. The truth?
“America loves Black culture. But it’s still afraid of Black power.”
