With the 2027 presidential election drawing closer, many Nigerians are warning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu: connect with the people now, or lose badly later.
Political watchers believe Tinubu is losing touch with ordinary Nigerians, while his rivals Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi are quietly building strong networks across the country.
“Atiku and Obi are not sleeping,” said political analyst Tunde Bello. “They are moving around, meeting key leaders, and winning the hearts of the people.”
Insiders confirm that both opposition leaders have been holding private meetings with governors, traditional rulers, and youth groups, especially in areas where Tinubu is believed to be losing support. Their goal is simple unite the opposition and take power back in 2027.

Meanwhile, frustration among the people continues to grow. Rising food prices, poor electricity, insecurity, and lack of jobs are making many Nigerians question Tinubu’s leadership.
“This is not what we voted for,” said Hauwa Ibrahim, a trader in Kano. “If Tinubu doesn’t change and show us he cares, he will be voted out.”
Some experts say the problem is not just the economy it’s Tinubu’s silence. People want to hear from their president. They want action, not just political structure.
“2027 won’t be about money or party power alone,” said political expert Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf. “It will be about trust. And right now, Tinubu is not connecting with the people.”
The message is clear: if President Tinubu wants to stay in power, he must wake up, speak up, and reconnect or risk being remembered as a one-term president.
