In the most intense aerial bombardment since the conflict began, Russia launched a record-breaking 355 drones across Ukraine overnight, targeting critical infrastructure and urban areas in Kyiv, Lviv, and Dnipro. Ukrainian forces reported that while 298 drones were intercepted, several power stations and hospitals suffered damage.
The Ukrainian Air Force described the drone barrage as a “wave of terror designed to cripple civilian life.” Casualties are still being assessed, but initial reports indicate at least 47 injuries and three fatalities.
Reacting to the attack, U.S. President Donald Trump publicly condemned Russian President Vladimir Putin. “He’s gone absolutely crazy,” Trump said during an impromptu press briefing. “This kind of attack on innocent people is inexcusable, even in war.”

Trump’s remarks come just days after he postponed the imposition of 50% tariffs on EU imports, signaling a shift in focus from economic pressure to geopolitical stability. European leaders, particularly from Poland and Germany, have called for emergency summits to reassess NATO’s next steps.
Meanwhile, global markets showed volatility amid fears of escalation. The United Nations has scheduled an emergency Security Council meeting for Tuesday.
