New scientific research is sounding a fresh alarm on the climate crisis. According to multiple studies published this week, glaciers around the world are melting at rates much faster than previously estimated.
Researchers warn that the loss of glacier mass is now irreversible in many regions, threatening fresh water supplies, rising sea levels, and long-term ecological stability.
One glaciologist called the findings “terrifying,” stating that “the window to slow this down is closing fast.”
The report comes just days before the 2025 Global Climate Action Summit in Copenhagen, where countries are expected to face pressure for tougher emissions cuts.
